Veteran singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has shed light on why he no longer engages in discussions about national issues. In a recent interview on Cool FM, the renowned singer was asked about his views on the current state of affairs in Nigeria.

Instead of sharing his views, he expressed that he has chosen to refrain from sharing his opinions on national matters following the 2023 general elections, which he believes did not lead to any positive change.
He emphasized that he has shifted his focus away from the nation’s politics and is now concentrating on building his own personal “country.”

“I’m sorry. I don’t have any opinion anymore,” Rudeboy stated. “The last opinion I did was during the election and I am not saying anything anymore. Nothing concern me again. Anyhow wey una wan run the country, make una run am. I’m building my own country myself now.”

Rudeboy’s decision to disengage from national discourse highlights a growing sentiment among some Nigerians who feel their voices and votes do not bring about the desired change.
As one half of the iconic music duo P-Square, Rudeboy has long been a significant figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
