Veteran Ghanaian actress and TV personality Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, has announced the launch of her memoir on August 7, 2024.

The announcement was made during an event at the Silverbird Cinemas in Accra on July 30, 2024, celebrating her 80th birthday and her 60-year career in the Ghanaian film industry.
The upcoming book will cover various facets of her life, including her experience delivering all six of her children via C-section, her interactions with former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, and her long and distinguished career in the movie industry.

Maame Dokono, renowned for her roles in the series “Obra” and the children’s program “By The Fire Side,” began her career in the 1970s.
Her notable films include “Kwaku Ananse” and “Children of the Mountain.” She has also been active in politics, having run for parliament with the NDC and later the NPP.
She managed the Peace and Love Orphanage, now Graceful Grace School, and was appointed President of the Golden Movie Awards Africa jury in 2017.
The memoir promises to offer insights into her remarkable life and career, reflecting her significant contributions to both the arts and community.
