In a thrilling final, Huston finished behind Japan’s defending champion Yuto Horigome and his American teammate Jagger Eaton, who claimed the silver medal.

Horigome topped the podium with a score of 97.08, narrowly surpassing Eaton’s score by 0.10.

This is the first Olympic medal for the 29-year-old Huston, while Eaton, 23, secured his second career Olympic medal. Eaton previously won bronze at the Tokyo 2021 Games.

“I feel like at that level, between first, second, and third, you could have picked anybody to win,” Eaton said. “It just went Yuto’s way and that’s 100% fine. It’s really just about going out there, having a great day, and leaving it all out there.”

Huston led for most of the day but was eventually edged out by Horigome’s impressive final run. Both Huston and Eaton praised each other’s performances and their camaraderie.

“Nyjah is really like my big brother,” Eaton said. “I dedicate a lot of my tricks and competitive drive to him.”

Huston echoed the sentiment, adding, “Skateboarding is all about having fun and pushing progression. We love feeding off each other’s energy.”

This victory marks a significant milestone in Huston’s career, highlighting his growth and success in the sport.
