Early Career

Margalis began her swimming career at Countryside High School in Florida, where she was a standout athlete.

Competing for Saint Petersburg Aquatics and coached by Fred Lewis, she won multiple state championships and held a state record in the 200-yard individual medley.

Her high school success earned her the title of Pinellas County Female Athlete of the Year in 2009-2010.

College Achievements

At the University of Georgia, Margalis played a key role in securing NCAA Division I team titles for the Bulldogs in 2013 and 2014.

During this time, she won a gold medal in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay and a bronze in the 200-meter individual medley at the 2013 World University Games.
