Speaking on Sirius XM’s Jeff Lewis Live on July 19, Cohn, who played Natalie Green on the show, revealed that the revival plans were scrapped due to internal drama.
Cohn explained that the idea for a reboot emerged after a 2021 special from the Live in Front of a Studio Audience series, which reignited interest in Norman Lear’s sitcom.

Discussions began, and tentative plans were put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, including hiring a writer and holding virtual cast meetings.
However, Cohn disclosed that the project fell apart due to an unexpected and greedy move by one of her co-stars. This unanticipated business decision derailed the revival, leaving fans disappointed.
