American rapper Snoop Dogg has been selected as one of the final torchbearers for the Olympic flame ahead of the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.

The 52-year-old artist, known for his iconic contributions to music and pop culture, will carry the torch through the vibrant streets of Saint-Denis, a northern suburb of Paris and the site of the Stade de France Olympic Stadium, on Friday.
This pivotal moment marks the penultimate stage of the flame’s relay, culminating in its arrival at the Eiffel Tower for the grand opening ceremony. Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., hails from Los Angeles, the host city for the 2028 Summer Games.

Joining Snoop Dogg in Saint-Denis will be other distinguished torchbearers, including renowned French actress Laetitia Casta and celebrated French rapper MC Solaar.

Since its journey began in May, the Olympic torch has traversed the length and breadth of France, carried by an array of notable figures. Among them are former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, and actress Halle Berry.
The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, set to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, promises to be a spectacular celebration of sport, culture, and unity.
