Pastor Iren’s highly anticipated film, What About Us?, has surged to the top of the Nigerian box office, displacing the Hollywood blockbuster Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

Since its release, What About Us?, directed by Kayode Kasum, has captivated audiences and critics alike. The film, which boasts an impressive cast including Uzor Arukwe, Folu Storms, Kunle Remi, Teniola Aladese, Seyi Awolowo, Marycolette Unamka, and Atlanta Bridget Johnson, has earned ₦34.7 million.
According to a report by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN), published on Friday, July 20, 2024, What About Us? achieved an impressive ₦24 million in its opening weekend alone. This financial success has propelled it to the top of the box office chart, overtaking the previously reigning champion, Bad Boys: Ride or Die.

The Hollywood action-comedy, featuring stars Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, has slipped to second place with a total gross of ₦33.6 million. Despite its drop, the film continues to be a strong contender at the box office.
In third place is A Quiet Place: Day One, a Hollywood horror sci-fi directed by Michael Sarnoski. This film has accumulated ₦30.3 million, bringing its total gross to ₦109.2 million.

The Nollywood epic crime thriller Lakatabu, directed by Odunlade Adekola, remains in fourth place with ₦22.1 million for the week. Since its release on June 21, 2024, it has grossed over ₦156 million, demonstrating its enduring popularity.
Despicable Me 4, the American animated comedy from Universal Pictures and Illumination, holds fifth place with ₦13.8 million this week and a total gross of ₦40 million.
Biodun Stephen’s Muri and Ko is in sixth place, with a total gross of ₦120.4 million since its release on June 14, 2024, and ₦12.3 million earned this week.
In seventh place is Inside Out 2, a Hollywood animation distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, which has earned ₦11.5 million this week and a total gross of ₦68.5 million.
The romantic comedy Fly Me to the Moon, directed by Greg Berlanti and distributed by Columbia Pictures, follows in eighth place with ₦8.1 million.
Ninth place is occupied by The Groomsmen, directed by Ampong Kwaku Kwakye and released on July 12, 2024. This romantic drama has grossed ₦6.2 million to date, with ₦6.1 million earned last week.
Finally, Voltage, which premiered on July 5, 2024, is in tenth place with a total gross of ₦8 million, having earned ₦2.4 million last week.
