Maame Yeboah Asiedu: “I Never Thought I Would Ever Be Divorced”

Media personality and marriage counselor Maame Yeboah Asiedu has spoken candidly about her unexpected divorce.

In a recent interview shared on the Instagram page of Marigyata, Asiedu revealed that she never anticipated experiencing a divorce, despite her strong stance against it.

Asiedu, who has been a vocal advocate against divorce, explained that she would never have initiated such a process herself. She emphasized that, while she never expected to be divorced, it was ultimately beyond her control.

“If I thought that I would ever be divorced, then I would be lying to you because anyone who knows me is aware that I am very much against divorce, and it is not in my plans,” Asiedu said.

“But, as the saying goes, the thoughts of man are many, but the will of God is what will be established. We can always plan and plot, but the word and will of God are what will be established.”

Asiedu previously revealed that her divorce, after nearly 20 years of marriage, resulted from her former husband’s decision to annul the marriage in court, a move she did not agree with.

Despite her efforts, she was unable to prevent the dissolution of the marriage.

In the interview, Asiedu also addressed criticisms that she does not practice what she preaches as a marriage counselor.

She clarified that the divorce was not her choice, reinforcing that she remains committed to her beliefs against divorce.
