Josh Shapiro, born on June 20, 1973, in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, has a notable political background. He graduated in political science from the University of Rochester and earned a law degree from Georgetown University.

Shapiro began his political career in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2004. He later served on the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners before being elected as Pennsylvania’s Attorney General in 2016.

As Attorney General, he made headlines for his work on child abuse cases involving priests and for securing substantial settlements related to the opioid crisis.

In 2021, Shapiro ran for governor and won the 2022 election. He has been serving as Pennsylvania’s governor since January 17, 2023. Shapiro and his wife, Lori, are parents to four children.
