The incident, which has sparked outrage across social media, highlights serious concerns regarding the normalization of such behavior in public discourse.

In a video that has gone viral, the unnamed man appeared on Sompa FM, where he shared his experiences in a discussion about karma. He recounted his past sexual encounters with a young girl, stating, “I had sex with one 14-year-old a few years ago. Her father is a wealthy man in Dormaa Ahenkro.”

Despite attempts from other studio participants to intervene, he continued to boast about his actions, claiming he had engaged with the girl multiple times from her primary school years until she completed her secondary education.

His narrative took a troubling turn as he reflected on his actions, linking them to his daughter’s current experiences with inappropriate advances from a teacher.

He admitted, “I broke her virginity,” and acknowledged the painful realization of his past sins, stating, “Now after my daughter also got to that level… my wife reminded me of my past sin.”

The video prompted immediate backlash, with Lydia Forson expressing her frustration on X (formerly Twitter). She criticized the societal tendency to deflect blame and focus on the outrage rather than the man’s admission, stating, “If I speak on this video now, you will say I hate men. You will ignore that this man openly bragged about sleeping with a 14-year-old on air.”

Sarkodie echoed Forson’s sentiments, reinforcing the call for justice by declaring, “I sense no hate here; he should not be walking around freely.”

His comments reflect a growing concern among the public regarding the accountability of individuals who exploit minors.

The Ghana Police Service has since responded to the public outcry, confirming the arrest of the man, identified as Nana Poku Piesie, who is now in custody assisting with investigations.

The police assured the public that he would face the legal consequences of his actions, which are in violation of Section 101 of the Criminal Code Act 29, 1960, stipulating severe penalties for sexual offenses against minors.
