MetLife Stadium, located in the Meadowlands Sports Complex, was originally called New Meadowlands Stadium.

The name changed when MetLife, a New York-based insurance company, secured a 25-year sponsorship deal in 2011.

This agreement with the stadium’s owners, the New York Giants and Jets, gave MetLife naming rights and made it the official insurance company for both teams.

The deal provided significant brand exposure for MetLife due to the stadium’s high profile.

Constructing MetLife Stadium was a major financial endeavor. Completed in 2010, the stadium cost $1.6 billion, making it the most expensive stadium in the United States at that time.

This investment went into creating a top-tier facility that features a retractable roof, luxurious suites, and modern amenities, all aimed at enhancing the fan experience.

MetLife Stadium is the venue for the Copa America 2024. Recently, MetLife Stadium hosted a semifinal match between Argentina and Canada, where Argentina secured a victory to advance to the final.

Additionally, the stadium recently featured a high-profile concert by George Strait, Chris Stapleton, and Little Big Town on June 8, 2024, further showcasing its versatility as a premier event location.
