Hard Rock Stadium serves as the home field for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL) and the Miami Hurricanes, the University of Miami’s NCAA Division I college football team.

The stadium’s versatility allows it to be configured for both professional and college football games, concerts, and other entertainment. To ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, the stadium has certain rules and restrictions in place regarding what items are permitted inside.

Here are some of the key prohibited items so you can plan for your visit.:

- Weapons: Firearms, knives, tasers, pepper spray, and any other items that could be used as weapons are strictly prohibited. This includes toy weapons as well.
- Alcohol and Drugs: Outside alcohol is not allowed. Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia are also banned. The stadium reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone suspected of being under the influence.
- Food and Beverages: Coolers, outside food, and beverages are not permitted, except for one factory-sealed water bottle per person. Concessions are available for purchase inside the stadium.
- Bags and Containers: Bags larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″ are prohibited. Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags smaller than this size are allowed. Exceptions are made for medically necessary items.
- Noisemakers: Artificial noisemakers, air horns, whistles, and other disruptive devices are not allowed. Chanting and cheering are encouraged, but keep it friendly!
- Smoking: Hard Rock Stadium is a non-smoking facility. Smoking, including e-cigarettes and vaping, is prohibited inside the stadium and in the parking lots.
- Flagpoles
- Computers or tablets are not permitted if they are larger than 12″ x 2″ x 12″
- Laser Pointers: These are not permitted, as they can be dangerous and distracting.
- Drones: Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and drones are prohibited for safety reasons.
- Selfie Sticks: These are not allowed inside the stadium.
- Fireworks, flares, explosives, ammunition, or other incendiary devices.
- Glass bottles, cans, coolers of any kind, thermoses or ice chests.
- Purses or bags that exceed 12” X 6” X 12”
- Umbrellas: For the safety and comfort of all guests, umbrellas are prohibited. Ponchos are a great alternative if rain is expected.
Exceptions and Accommodations
The stadium does make exceptions for certain items, such as:
- Medically necessary items and equipment
- Baby formula, milk, and juice for infants and toddlers
- Medications
- Seat cushions without pockets or zippers
