Former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones has died at the age of 40.

Jones passed away at his home in New Orleans on July 14, 2024. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Jones enjoyed a notable NFL career spanning eight seasons. He was instrumental in the Ravens’ Super Bowl XLVII victory in 2013, where he set several records, including the longest kickoff return for a touchdown in Super Bowl history at 108 yards.
He was also the first player to score a touchdown both on a return and by reception in the same Super Bowl.
Drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft, Jones began his career with the Houston Texans before joining the Ravens in 2011.

After three successful seasons with Baltimore, where he earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2012, he played for the San Diego Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring in 2017.
Tributes have poured in from former teammates and fans. JJ Watt, Jones’ former teammate with the Texans, described him as “one of the most fun-loving teammates and people” he had ever known.
Torrey Smith, who played alongside Jones in Baltimore, expressed his gratitude for the memories and impact Jones had on his life.
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson also paid tribute, calling him a “legend.” Jones is remembered for his vibrant personality and significant contributions on the field.
