Drake had hoped to win big, with potential earnings of $2.88 million if Canada had beaten the world champions. He shared his bet slip on Instagram before the match, jokingly saying, “This could get Messi,” referring to Argentina’s star player.

This isn’t Drake’s first betting loss this year. In May, he lost $565,000 when he bet on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk in a boxing match.

In the soccer game, Argentina’s goals came from Lionel Messi, who has won the Ballon D’Or award eight times, and Julian Alvarez from Manchester City. The match took place at MetLife Stadium in New York on Tuesday night.

Argentina will now play in the final against either Uruguay or Colombia, who face each other on Wednesday, July 10. The big final game will happen on Sunday, July 14, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
