Ghanaian music icon Okyeame Kwame’s song “No Competition,” featuring Kuami Eugene, is now being studied at the University of Media Arts and Communication Institute of Journalism (UniMAC-IJ).

The song and its music video are part of the African Anthropology course led by lecturer Daniel Obeng Acquah. This course explores the integration of African cultural elements in modern media.

During a lecture titled “Exploring African Culture Through Music,” Obeng Acquah highlighted the importance of “No Competition” in showcasing Ghanaian traditions and identity.

Okyeame Kwame also provided an analysis of the cultural elements in the song and video, emphasizing their educational value. He explained that using art to express culture helps preserve and celebrate heritage.

Students at UniMAC-IJ delved into the song’s rich depiction of African themes, discussing its potential as a cultural teaching tool.

Dr. Daniel Odoom, Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Social Sciences, praised this initiative, emphasizing the value of studying contemporary cultural artifacts to understand how modern music reflects and promotes African culture.
