Emma Roberts Explains Why She Won’t Date Actors Anymore

American movie star Emma Roberts has candidly discussed her decision to avoid dating fellow actors following her failed relationships with Garrett Hedlund and Cody John. In a recent interview with Flaunt, Roberts revealed the challenges that come with romantic relationships between actors and why she has chosen to steer clear of them in the future.

Roberts began dating John in 2022, less than a year after her split from Hedlund. However, their relationship soon ended, leading Roberts to a significant realization about her romantic preferences.

Reflecting on her experiences, Roberts said, “It’s hard, I think, for two actors to be together. I’m trying to think if I’ve seen it done successfully.” She elaborated on the difficulties, particularly when it comes to the intense nature of method acting. “Also, the actors I’ve been with border on method actors, and that is something that I think is extremely difficult to be in a relationship with — at least for me, especially the characters that they were playing.”

The 32-year-old actress explained how the demands and complexities of method acting often blurred the lines between reality and performance, making it challenging to maintain a healthy relationship. “One day the veil was lifted, and I didn’t want to date actors anymore,” she confessed.
