Oliver Mellor is a British actor and former personal trainer, perhaps best known for his role as Dr. Matt Carter in the ITV soap opera “Coronation Street,” which he played from August 20, 2010, to April 5, 2013.

Early Life and Education
Mellor grew up in Windsor, Berkshire, with his father, a hotelier, his mother, a flight attendant, and his older sister. He developed a passion for sports early on and was a county rugby player before injuries curtailed his sporting career. Transitioning from athletics, Mellor pursued a career in acting and graduated from the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in the summer of 2005.
