On the Honest Bunch Podcast, Candy Bleakz discussed the challenges female artists face, particularly in terms of collaborations.

Candy Bleakz acknowledged that there hasn’t been a strong culture of female artists supporting each other, though this is beginning to change.

She mentioned recent collaborations like her songs with Simi and Bloody, and Ayra Starr’s work with Tiwa Savage.

She emphasized that such collaborations are a new development, as previously, it was rare for established female artists to help bring up newcomers.

Candy Bleakz noted that the new generation of female artists, especially Gen Z, is making efforts to foster a more supportive environment.

However, she also highlighted the high expectations placed on female artists, from their appearance to their behavior.

She pointed out that some record labels hesitate to sign female artists due to biases about marriage, motherhood, relationships with managers, or other personal decisions that might affect their careers.

In the interview, Candy Bleakz, who recently released her new EP ‘Better Days,’ shared her journey and the challenges she faced on her path to success.
