In March, Drogba was diagnosed with a life-threatening Demyelinating disease, which affects the nervous system. A statement revealed that he has been battling this illness for over two years.

Since his diagnosis, Drogba has appealed for support to ensure he can undergo the required treatment successfully.

Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer, and friends of Drogba visited the actor to show their support and contribute donations towards his treatment.

Additionally, there has been a broader appeal for funds to help Drogba receive the medical care he needs abroad.
