Some people, like well-known football expert Osei Owusu Bempah, think Appiah should step down because working for two different football associations in the same competition could cause conflicts. However, Sannie, who now works as a media officer for CAF, doesn’t see it that way.

Sannie explained in a chat with JoySports that Appiah could simply step back from his Ghana FA role during the qualifiers. He believes this would be an easy solution to avoid any conflicts.

Sannie also pointed out that having Appiah in both roles could actually benefit Ghanaian football. He thinks the experiences Appiah gains while coaching Sudan could be valuable when he brings that knowledge back to help improve football in Ghana.

Despite Sannie’s opinion, the Ghana Football Association is taking the matter seriously. They’ve told JoySports that they plan to ask FIFA for advice on how to handle the situation. The association says they’ll follow whatever guidance FIFA provides.

Ghana’s journey in the qualifiers is set to begin in September 2024. They’ll first face Angola, then Niger, and finally Sudan. As the matches approach, it remains to be seen how the Ghana FA will resolve the potential conflict with Appiah’s dual roles.
