Minnesota Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson tragically lost his life in a car crash in Maryland early Saturday morning. The incident, which occurred just before 3:15 a.m. in Prince George’s County, involved three vehicles and resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including Jackson. He was 24 years old.

According to a news release from state police, Jackson was a passenger in a maroon Dodge Charger. The vehicle was being driven by 23-year-old Isaiah Hazel, with another passenger, 24-year-old Anthony Lytton. Both Hazel and Jackson died at the scene, while Lytton was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The crash happened when a silver Infiniti, travelling northbound on Route 4, attempted to change lanes at a high rate of speed. The Infiniti, driven by Cori Clingman, struck the Charger before colliding with a Chevrolet Impala. The impact forced the Charger off the road, where it struck multiple tree stumps before coming to a halt.
Jackson’s untimely death has sent shockwaves through the sports community. He was a promising young athlete who had recently started his professional football career with the Minnesota Vikings. His potential and dedication to the sport had made him a standout rookie.
