Davido Responds After Sophia Momodu Cites Late Son as Reason He Can’t Have Custody of Imade

Afrobeat singer Davido Adeleke has publicly responded to his baby mama, Sophia Momodu, after she referenced the tragic death of his son, Ifeanyi, in a legal dispute over custody of their daughter, Imade.

The conflict arose when Sophia filed a detailed 100-paragraph counter-affidavit opposing Davido’s request for joint custody of Imade. In paragraph 76 of the affidavit, she mentioned the loss of Davido’s son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, who died in a domestic accident. Sophia described the incident as a result of negligence and used it as an argument to prevent Davido from having joint custody of their daughter.

In his response, Davido criticized Sophia for bringing up the painful memory of his late son. He expressed his frustration, stating that she continuously exacerbates a wound that he and his wife, Chioma, are still trying to heal from.

Davido suggested that the custody battle be put on hold, emphasizing that his daughter, Imade, would eventually understand that he fought to be a part of her life.
