In a statement on July 4, Amadia Shopping Centre shared that they had a three-year contract to support Chef Smith’s record-breaking effort.
The shopping centre, owned by Mrs. Nana Ama Duodu, funded and organized Chef Smith’s month-long record attempt.
After the event, Amadia Shopping Centre tried multiple times to contact Chef Smith about the progress of his video uploads and any response from the Guinness World Records.
However, they received no replies. The shopping centre also said that Chef Smith did not inform them about the press conference where he planned to announce his Guinness World Record certificate, which violated their contract.

The contract stated that the sponsor should be informed first about any sponsored activities or projects.
Attempts to reach Chef Smith’s management for clarification about the press conference were ignored. As a result, Nana Boroo and his team went to the La Palm hotel to verify the certificate’s authenticity but were denied entry.
To protect their brand, Amadia Shopping Centre called the police to halt the press conference until the certificate could be authenticated.
The police intervened after the announcement of the results and the presentation of the certificate. Chef Smith and his manager were taken to the police station for questioning.
The police are now investigating the authenticity of Chef Smith’s Guinness World Record certificate.
