Early Life and Education

Born on September 12, 1983, in Lanham, Maryland, Muir was raised by his Jamaican parents. He attended Fairmont Heights High School before transferring to Parkdale High School in Riverdale, Maryland. As a high school athlete, Muir was a standout, earning All-State honours after finishing his senior season with 96 tackles and 13.5 sacks. Additionally, he excelled in wrestling, finishing second in the state as a junior and third as a senior.

Muir continued his athletic career at Kent State University, where he was a formidable force on the football field. He started 45 of his 46 career games, ranking third in school history for career sacks (14.5) and seventh for tackles-for-losses (35). Over his college career, Muir recorded 198 tackles, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and one interception. His performance earned him First-team All-MAC honours as a senior.

Professional Career

Green Bay Packers (First Stint)

Despite going undrafted in the 2007 NFL draft, Muir signed with the Green Bay Packers. He was the only undrafted rookie to make the Packers’ roster out of training camp, playing in three games and recording eight tackles during the 2007 season. However, he was waived before the 2008 season.

Indianapolis Colts (First Stint)

Muir was claimed by the Indianapolis Colts after being waived by the Packers. He played a significant role for the Colts and was re-signed to a one-year, $1.7 million contract in April 2010.

St. Louis Rams

In July 2011, Muir signed a one-year, $1.85 million contract with the St. Louis Rams but was released in September 2011.

Indianapolis Colts (Second Stint)

Muir rejoined the Colts in October 2011 but was waived again in November 2011.

Green Bay Packers (Second Stint)

Muir signed with the Packers once more in March 2012 but was released in August 2012.
