Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has criticized actress Iyabo Ojo, accusing her of using Mohbad’s death for political reasons to oppose Naira Marley.

Kuti responded to Ojo’s claim that he is confusing young people by supporting the controversial social media activist, VeryDarkMan.
Kuti called Ojo an “oppressor” and rejected the label of “confusionist.” He clarified that his disagreement with Ojo is only about her actions on social media.
In a video on his Instagram, Kuti said he had watched Ojo’s video but found that she focused more on what VeryDarkMan did rather than addressing him directly.
He emphasized that he does not hold any personal grudges against Ojo and that his concerns are political.

Kuti accused Ojo and others of politicizing Mohbad’s death without seeking true justice. He pointed out that if they accept the government’s findings that Mohbad died from substance abuse, then there is no justice to pursue.
Kuti believes the issue was used as a movement against Naira Marley rather than addressing the real problem.
He criticized celebrities for being part of bullying gangs and not speaking out against them.
Kuti questioned the sincerity of their actions and asked why there is no active movement against confraternities in Nigeria or genuine efforts for justice for Mohbad.
