Mercy Eke Set to Marry Soon

After attending many weddings this year, Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has expressed her desire to get married soon, saying “love is sweet” and that she is ready to tie the knot regardless of her partner’s gender.

During a Q&A session on Snapchat after attending Sharon Ooja’s wedding, a female fan jokingly proposed to Eke.

Eke readily accepted the proposal, showing her openness to marrying a woman. Eke has also shared that she plans to retain her father’s surname even after marriage to uphold his legacy.

Some people, online however expressed mixed views on marriage as an achievement. Some users mocked the notion that marriage isn’t an accomplishment, citing recent celebrity weddings. Others expressed skepticism or critiqued societal attitudes towards marriage, questioning its true significance beyond the ceremony itself.
