Initially, Atalanta offered £8.5 million, which Everton rejected, holding out for at least £15 million.
After negotiations, both clubs have settled on a transfer fee exceeding Atalanta’s initial bid, with performance-related add-ons included.

Ben Godfrey has been granted permission by Everton to undergo medical examinations ahead of the move to the Gewiss Stadium, expected to be finalized soon.
Ben Godfrey’s departure aids Everton’s compliance with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules, allowing them flexibility to strengthen Sean Dyche’s squad for the upcoming season.
Capable of playing across the backline, Ben Godfrey was pivotal in Everton’s recent campaigns, adapting to various defensive roles.
Ben Godfrey’s departure follows Lewis Dobbin’s move to Aston Villa as the Merseyside-based club are looking to raise enough funds before the end of this month to avoid sanctions.
