Professional Career: Clubs and National Team
Mikautadze began his football career at Gerland before enrolling in the Olympique Lyonnais academy. He moved to the FC Metz football academy in 2016.
On December 7, 2019, Mikautadze made his debut as a professional with Metz in a 4-1 Ligue 1 loss against Nice.
He inked a four-year contract, his first professional contract, with the Metz on December 10, 2019. In his debut season in France, he mainly served as a reserve player and found it difficult to create an impression.
Mikautadze was one of six Metz players who went on loan to play for Seraing in the Belgian First Division B in June 2020.
He had scored 15 goals after his first nine games with Seraing, including four against Lommel on his debut.

By the end of the season, he was the top goal scorer and best player in the league.
Mikautadze kicked out the new season with two goals against Marseille and Clermont and an assist in the first encounter against Rennes, as Metz was promoted to Ligue 1 in 2023–2024.

He equalized against Turkey in the opening round of the European competition on June 18, the day of his country’s first goal, despite the match ending in a 3-1 loss.
In the following match, which took place four days later, he scored a penalty in a 1-1 draw with the Czech Republic.
On 26 June, he scored another penalty in a 2–0 victory over Portugal, securing his nation’s qualification to the knockout phase as one of the best third-placed teams, and concluding the group stage as top scorer in the competition with three goals in total.
