Nigerian singer Davido surprised his wedding guests by requesting Bitcoin as a gift during his traditional marriage ceremony to Chioma Rowland.

In a video that has gone viral, Davido took the microphone from the MC, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, and informed the attendees that in addition to pounds, euros, and dollars, he was also accepting Bitcoin transfers as wedding gifts.
Davido emphasized that he did not want any promises of cash to be sent the next day. He stated that his Bitcoin wallet was open and ready to receive transfers from guests who were unable to spray naira notes.

“I’m accepting Bitcoin as a gift if you can’t spray naira and I no want OBO I go give you tomorrow, I no want that one”, he said, which implies he did not want guests to promise him money that they would give him later.
