In a meeting with female journalists in Accra, she criticized the NPP’s performance, mentioning the pensioners’ protest at the Finance Ministry for their payments.

She pointed out that the current financial difficulties, like pensioners protesting, were once thought impossible by the NPP, but have happened. She suggested that when people hear “It is possible,” they should remember these struggles.

“At a time of different haircuts, and at a time old people picketing at the ministry of finance…at that time they also thought that none of this will happen, they didn’t even imagine that it is possible. But that has been possible, so when you hear about it is possible, think about it. It is possible to picket at the Ministry of Finance, it’s possible to have a different style or haircut,” she said.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang encouraged Ghanaians to critically evaluate the NPP’s promises, especially considering the financial challenges faced by older citizens.
She defended the NDC against claims of lacking ideas and vision, highlighting their manifesto’s focus on inclusivity. She explained that they talk to various groups, including journalists and women, to understand and address their issues.
She reaffirmed the NDC’s dedication to leading with a clear and inclusive plan.
