Without their captain Kylian Mbappé, who was injured, France’s match against the Netherlands had moments of excitement but didn’t turn into a memorable game.

A goal by the Netherlands’ Xavi Simons was disallowed due to an offside call, which was confirmed after a VAR review. Both teams, now with four points each, are optimistic about their chances of making it to the next round.
France will play against Poland next, while the Netherlands will face Austria. The anticipation around Mbappé’s participation was high after he was seen wearing a protective mask during training.

The match started energetically with close attempts from both sides. France missed a clear opportunity when Adrien Rabiot passed to Antoine Griezmann instead of shooting at goal.
Griezmann took on a leading role in Mbappé’s absence but couldn’t convert his chances into goals. The Netherlands struggled to create significant chances, with their attacks often fizzling out.

In the second half, France picked up the pace but still couldn’t score, with Marcus Thuram and Aurélien Tchouaméni missing their shots and Griezmann being stopped by the Dutch goalkeeper.
The Dutch team briefly celebrated what they thought was a goal by Simons, but it was disallowed due to offside.
