A viral video on social media showed him chanting and waving an Ijaw Youth Council flag along with other youths. The protest was against the extension of the LG chairmen’s tenure in the state.

After the protest, Ejindu boarded a motorcycle heading towards Ula-Pata Road. During the ride, three gunmen opened fire on him, killing him instantly. The motorcycle driver was also injured by gunfire and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Reports indicate that Ejindu and his wife had recently welcomed a new baby. As of now, the Rivers State Police Command has not provided any comments on the matter.
