Consequently, the NLC has instructed the dissatisfied CETAG members to end their strike. However, CETAG’s leadership has stated that they will only consider halting the strike after consulting with their members on June 21, 2024.

Prince Obeng-Himah, the President of CETAG, mentioned that the NLC plans to approach the court on June 26 to seek enforcement of compliance from the government or employer.

He also noted that both CETAG and the employer are expected to present themselves before the Commission on June 27. In light of this, the Commission has directed CETAG to cease their strike action.
Austin Gamey, a labour consultant for CETAG, conveyed that they acknowledge the Commission’s attention to their concerns and noted that they have been directed by the Commission to fully implement an existing arbitration award. He added that CETAG is set to meet with their members within a day or two to decide on resuming work.
