During his Neat FM program on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, Adakabre broadcasted portions of the audio recording where the late businesswoman recounted her journey from selling iced water at the Tema Harbour to becoming a successful multimillionaire importer of frozen foods.
“In 1978, I started selling iced water at the harbour. Back then, there was no term like ‘Slay Queen,’ so you had to work hard. I love living; it’s in my nature, so I worked hard to support my lifestyle,” she shared in the aired segment.
After completing her education, Eunice Buah ventured into the importation business, where she encountered challenges but persisted, building crucial contacts abroad during her travels.
“I went overseas briefly to search for suppliers. When I returned, I was prepared to pursue my business goals with fish and chicken suppliers,” she revealed during the interview.

Reflecting on her entrepreneurial journey, she discussed facing media attacks and trials that tested her resolve but ultimately strengthened her business acumen.
“The trials began soon after I started. I would wake up to find myself on the front pages of newspapers. I faced these challenges for 13 years,” she disclosed before the broadcast concluded.
Adakabre had previously announced his intention to release segments of the interview, recorded in August 2023. He recounted visiting Eunice Buah at her residence upon her invitation, where she shared her life story with him for over an hour.
Following her recent passing on June 11, 2024, Adakabre expressed uncertainty about the proper timing to disclose the interview, as per the late CEO’s instructions to withhold its airing until after her demise.
Eunice Jacqueline Buah Asomah-Hinneh, renowned for her role as CEO of Labianca Company Limited and as a Western Regional representative on the Council of State, passed away after a brief illness, having recently returned to Ghana from medical treatment abroad.
