The PGA Tour has granted Tiger Woods a lifetime entry into all its major ‘signature’ events. Woods, who has claimed 82 PGA Tour victories and 15 major titles, has faced injury challenges in recent years.

Despite this, at 48 years old, he’s been given a special pass to participate in eight high-stakes tournaments by the PGA’s policy board.

The tour released a memo stating that an extra sponsor exemption would be created specifically for Woods, acknowledging his remarkable achievement of over 80 career wins.

Woods holds a record-tying number of tour wins alongside Sam Snead and is second only to Jack Nicklaus in major wins. Since his car accident in February 2021, which resulted in severe leg injuries and surgery, Woods has played in only nine events.
This year, he’s competed in four PGA Tour events but made the cut just once. He had to withdraw from one event due to sickness and didn’t make it past the initial rounds in two others. Woods is anticipated to compete at the Open Championship in Scotland come July.
