Deschamps shared on the French team’s social media that the surgery is necessary but won’t be happening right away. Mbappe got injured in a collision with Kevin Danso during the first game of Euro 2024 against Austria.

Despite France winning the game 1-0, Mbappe had to leave with a bleeding nose and was taken to a hospital in Düsseldorf for treatment. The medical tests showed he had a broken nose, but it wasn’t so severe as to need immediate surgery.
Deschamps updated fans, saying Mbappe will eventually need surgery and is currently feeling better, although his return to the field is still up in the air.
He will not be playing in the upcoming game against the Netherlands this Friday. The France is likely to be fitted with a carbon-fiber mask if he is to play again in the tournament.
