Led by Joshua Alabi, who heads the flagbearer’s campaign, the team includes distinguished individuals aimed at supporting former President John Dramani Mahama’s bid to reclaim the presidency.

Among the notable appointments is Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku, the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), who joins the campaign team.

Dr. Issahaku previously served as the Second Deputy Governor of the BoG and held leadership positions in finance and economic development.

Dr. Issahaku’s tenure as BoG Governor began during a challenging period marked by inflationary pressures, currency depreciation, and banking sector difficulties. He resigned from the position in 2017, citing personal reasons.

The appointment underscores the NDC’s strategy to leverage experienced figures like Dr. Issahaku to bolster their campaign ahead of the elections.

Other key members of the campaign team include Obuobia Darko-Opoku and Dr. Mary Awusi, who bring diverse expertise to support the party’s electoral objectives.

Former President John Mahama, who lost the 2016 elections, aims to mobilize support under the leadership of Joshua Alabi and his team, including Dr. Abdul Nashiru Issahaku, to contest the upcoming polls scheduled for 2024.
