This strike has resulted in a total halt of academic and administrative operations, casting doubt on the future of the academic schedule.

CETAG announced an open-ended strike on Friday, June 14, 2024, due to the government’s postponement in executing the National Labour Commission’s (NLC) Arbitral Award Orders and negotiated service terms.

In response, the FWSC directed CETAG to cease its industrial action immediately.

The commission characterized CETAG’s choice to strike at this critical juncture as a breach of trust, considering the government’s efforts to address their grievances.

However, CETAG warned that it would not follow the directive from the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) to end its current strike and dared the FWSC to pursue legal action if it aimed to enforce government adherence to its obligations.
