As the summer transfer period begins, Arsenal’s coach, Mikel Arteta, is prepared to invest heavily to bridge the gap with Manchester City. Arsenal has shown interest in Everton’s Belgian midfielder, Amadou Onana.

Reports from the Liverpool Echo indicate that Arteta has long appreciated the 23-year-old player. With the likely departure of Thomas Partey this season, Arsenal has intensified their pursuit.

Last season, Onana participated in 37 games for Everton, scoring three times and assisting once. Arsenal and other interested clubs are expected to pay at least £50 million for Onana, a significant investment for Arteta.

Despite being valued at Everton, Onana hasn’t been central to Sean Dyche’s strategy. He remained on the bench during crucial victories over Nottingham Forest, Liverpool, and Brentford that ensured Everton’s league safety.
Everton might consider selling Onana, one of their prized players, as they face pressure to comply with the Premier League’s financial regulations after penalties for two infractions this season.
