France’s forward and 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner, Kylian Mbappe, suffered a broken nose during their 1-0 victory over Austria in the Euro 2024 opener.

Despite the injury, Kylian Mbappe is in good spirits and hopes to return to the field soon.
After colliding with Austrian defender Kevin Danso’s shoulder, Mbappe was taken to a Dusseldorf hospital. Thankfully, he did not require surgery.

Following his visit, Kylian Mbappe humorously asked on social media, “Any ideas for masks?” indicating his determination to continue playing.
Medical tests confirmed that the injury wasn’t severe enough to end his tournament.
The bone was reset, and the French Football Federation announced that Mbappe would undergo treatment but wouldn’t need immediate surgery. Instead, he will be fitted with a mask to protect his nose during recovery.
The French Federation’s statement confirmed that Kylian Mbappe returned to the team’s base camp and would focus on treatment before considering a return to play.
