The Nollywood entertainment industry is in mourning following the loss of veteran actress Stella Ikwuegbu, who passed away in June 2024.

The news was announced by movie producer Stanley Ontop on his official Instagram page.
Stanley Ontop revealed that Stella Ikwuegbu died after a prolonged battle with leg cancer.
He expressed his sorrow over her passing, writing: “Popular Nollywood actress/veteran Mrs. Stella Ikwuegbu is dead. The veteran actress left this world today after battling leg cancer. Rest well, Madam Stella. Nollywood not again. It’s well. Shalom!”

The news of her death has elicited heartfelt reactions from fans who admired her work. One fan lamented, “Ohhh this woman I love. Loved her voice… may she rest in peace.” Another expressed the profound impact of her passing by stating, “Death is the greatest enemy.”
The sorrow was further echoed by another fan who said, “I just asked Nche about her last week. May her soul rest in peace. Oh Lord, I’m shattered.” Another observed, “It just seems like all our veterans are dying of one ailment or the other,” reflecting a shared sense of loss within the community.
