Manchester United made an opening bid in the region of £35 million for 21-year-old Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite, a proposal that Everton has rejected.

Manchester United’s bid falls significantly short of the £80 million valuation Everton has placed on Jarrad Branthwaite.
Despite Manchester United already agreeing on personal terms with Jarrad Branthwaite, Everton has no intention of selling the young defender.

Although Everton’s director of football mentioned in May that players will be sold this summer in order to improve the club’s financial status, it would take an offer of about £80 million for Everton to consider selling Branthwaite.
Jarrad Branthwaite is a left centre back and there are a few of that playing at the top level in the world of football currently, hence, very scarce.
Jarrad Branthwaite is highly regarded at the club, with many believing he was unfortunate to miss out on selection for England’s European Championship squad.
