His Early Life, Club, and International Career

Ryan Christie was born on February 22, 1995, in Inverness, United Kingdom. Ryan Christie is 29 years old as of 2024.  The son of former footballer Charlie Christie, Ryan inherited his father’s love for the game and honed his skills at Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Scottish footballer Ryan Christie started his career with Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Christie began with Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s youth system at age 10 and eventually moved to their first team. He then played for Celtic and Aberdeen on loan.

At Celtic, he developed into a formidable attacking midfielder. He has also played for Scotland’s under-21 and full national teams. He made his debut in the Scottish Premiership in 2013.  After impressive performances, he was awarded SPFL Young Player of the Month twice in the 2014-15 season and later won the SFWA Young Player of the Year award.

Ryan Christie also helped Inverness win the 2015 Scottish Cup. Christie has represented Scotland at both the U21 and senior levels. He debuted for the U21 team in September 2014 and earned his first call-up to the senior squad in November 2017.

Christie scored his first international goal in November 2019 and has added several more since, including penalties in consecutive matches in September 2020.

Ryan Christie played a key role in Scotland’s qualification for Euro 2020, scoring the team’s only goal in the play-off final against Serbia. Unfortunately, he had to miss the play-off semi-final due to being a close contact of a teammate who tested positive for COVID-19.
