The incident, which has sparked outrage, involved an old woman with P.O.P. on both legs, found wrapped in a cloth with a wheelchair by her side in a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region. On Wednesday, June 12, the woman was discovered abandoned in the bush, and she reportedly died after three days. Speaking on the floor of Parliament on Friday, June 14, Ablakwa condemned the act, describing it as “the height of inhumanity” and insisted that Parliament should investigate the matter thoroughly.

He demanded the immediate summoning of the board and management of the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, along with the Ministry of Health, to provide answers regarding the incident.

Ablakwa’s call for a probe was echoed by other members of Parliament, including Majority Leader and MP for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin. Afenyo-Markin confirmed that he had already written to the hospital, requesting a comprehensive report on the incident.
