Greg Vanney, the head coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy, has announced that Ghanaian winger Joseph Paintsil is ready to return to action after recovering from a muscle injury.

This statement was made during a pre-game press conference ahead of the Galaxy’s match against Sporting Kansas on June 15.

Paintsil had missed several games over the past three weeks due to the injury, which also led to his exclusion from Ghana’s call-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.

However, according to Vanney, Paintsil has been fully involved in team activities this week and is now ready to join the team and participate in the game.
“Joe has been fully involved this whole week and was in partial training sessions last week, so he’s ready to join the team and be ready to go,” Vanney stated.

Since joining the LA Galaxy from KRC Genk in Belgium earlier this year, Paintsil has made a strong start in Major League Soccer (MLS), scoring four goals and providing four assists in 13 league games.
His impressive performance has even earned him a spot on the league’s Most Valuable Player radar in April.
