Lady Dentaa Amoateng MBE, the CEO of GUBA Enterprise, revealed that Ghana hasn’t joined the Grammy Africa initiative, led by Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, and South Africa.

While Ghana can still participate in the awards, it won’t host associated events due to the country’s failure to meet certain requirements with the Recording Academy.
Dentaa explained that Ghana’s exclusion stemmed from challenges in finalizing the necessary agreements and resources, although she couldn’t elaborate further on air.
However, she remains optimistic, noting that Ghana and Ivory Coast have signed an MOU, indicating potential future involvement once requirements are met.

Regarding the significance of Grammy Africa, Dentaa emphasized its potential to unlock numerous business opportunities across the continent.
She highlighted the diverse musical landscape of Africa and the need for a platform like Grammy Africa to showcase and celebrate its richness.
Drawing parallels with the Latin Grammys, Dentaa underscored the cultural recognition, global promotion, and economic growth such an initiative could bring to Africa, including boosting tourism and fostering industrial development.
