The Black Stars held a recovery training session on Friday evening, only hours after returning from their challenging trip to Mali for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The team arrived in Kumasi around 1 am on Friday after a crucial 2-1 victory over the Eagles in Bamako the previous night.
Despite the exhausting journey, Otto Addo’s squad quickly began preparing for their next important match.
The recovery session, open to the public, displayed the team’s determination and focus as they prepared for the critical game against the Central African Republic (CAR).
The Black Stars showed resilience and skill by coming from behind to win dramatically against Mali. Second-half goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew secured the victory, lifting Ghana’s spirits and improving their chances in the qualifiers.

The Central African Republic team also arrived in Kumasi on Friday morning after a significant win over Chad. The upcoming match between Ghana and CAR is expected to be highly competitive, with both teams eager to advance their World Cup goals.
After their win against Mali, Ghana is third in Group I with six points, level with Madagascar and Comoros, who are first and second, respectively, due to goal difference. The Black Stars now control their destiny and will aim to top the group.
