The couple’s joy arrived earlier this year in early April with the birth of a baby boy named Cooper and a baby girl named Maya.
Gabourey shared that Brandon always wanted a son named Cooper, and they chose Maya’s name just before a trip to the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Both children have traditional West African middle names in honor of Gabourey’s family.
Gabourey described the twins as strong and amusing, though they haven’t started interacting much with each other yet.

Cooper has shown a knack for looking out for Maya, even alerting their parents when she’s about to spit up. Maya enjoys having her name sung to her and has great comedic timing.
Cooper, on the other hand, loves his sleep and has very funny facial expressions. Both babies enjoy cuddling with their parents.
The actress also recounted the unexpected day of their birth. What was supposed to be a routine appointment turned into a surprise when the doctors informed them that the twins would arrive that day, earlier than expected.
Since their arrival, every day has been filled with excitement for Gabourey and Brandon as they navigate life with their new twins.
