The 29-year-old was the only player missing as of Saturday because he stayed with his club, Fenerbahce, to check an arm injury. Thankfully, Djiku is now fit to play, which is a big boost for Coach Otto Addo’s team.

Djiku missed the first two days of training due to the injury but will now join the rest of the squad at the University of Ghana Stadium on Sunday. This session is part of the preparation for the important qualifiers.

Since his debut in October 2020, Djiku, who used to play for Strasbourg, has been a key player, making 27 appearances and scoring two goals for Ghana. His presence is crucial as the team gets ready for the upcoming matches.

The Black Stars will train for a few more days at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon before heading to Bamako, Mali, next week for the match on June 6. They will then return to face the Central African Republic on June 10 in Kumasi.

Ghana is currently fourth in Group I of the CAF World Cup qualifiers, behind Comoros, Mali, and Madagascar. The team hopes to improve its position with strong performances in the upcoming games.

With their World Cup qualifying hopes on the line, the Black Stars are eager to win both matches to boost their standings and increase their chances of making it to the 2026 World Cup.

The next few days are crucial as Ghana’s national team strives to return to winning form and move up in the group standings.
