FC Samartex have become the newest champions of the Ghana Premier League, taking over from Medeama SC, their neighbors from the Western Region.

This achievement is especially notable since Samartex was only promoted to the top league last season.
Despite being newcomers, they have triumphed over strong teams like Aduana FC, Medeama SC, and Nations FC. Their decisive victory over Bibiani Gold Stars on Sunday secured their top spot.
Samartex has 58 points from 32 games, making it impossible for other teams to catch up with two games still to play. They earned these points through 18 wins, four draws, and 10 losses.

This success makes them the third club from the Western Region to win the league title, following Sekondi Hasaacas, XI Wise, and Medeama SC.
The club is based at Samartex Park in Tarkwa and was founded in 1995 by the Samartex Timber & Plywood Company as a recreational team.
From their early days in the Third Division, they quickly moved up to the Second Division in their first season.
This remarkable journey highlights their growth and determination, culminating in their current status as champions of Ghana’s top football league.
